This is a beginner class where students will begin by learning the basics of sewing including understanding how to use your sewing machine and its accessories, sewing terminology, sewing notions, and tips and tricks for beginners. You will practice sewing straight lines and simple curves and you will cut and sew your first project. You will be making an 18” envelope style pillow in this class. There will be two additional classes offered to build your sewing skills, but you are not required to take any additional classes. They are stand-alone classes and are optional.

Skill Details: | Our main goal is for you to have fun while you learn to sew and build your skills and confidence toward a rewarding hobby. You will need to build your sewing supplies if you don?t already have the basics, which is an investment into your hobby. These initial supplies will last you a very long time and if you thoroughly love the art of sewing, you will continue to build your supplies and tools. |

Instructor Bio: | About the Instructor: Shauna is a self-taught sewist and has been learning and sewing for the past 50 plus years. She started her sewing journey at 8 years old and has experience sewing apparel and home d?cor, quilting, English paper piecing, machine and hand embroidery, and applique. Shauna loves teaching others and experiences joy when they learn something new. Shauna?s philosophy in sewing is to do your best work, take pride in your work, and see your best get better over time. It?s a rewarding journey. |
